Katie & Matt: To Infinity& Beyond

Katie & Matt produced a wedding that told a story of who they are and who they hoped to grow to be together. Matt, the movie producer, and Katie the astronomer, brought their passions into everything from the "Transformers" cake to the stargazing telescope outside. The wedding party came in to the lovely "Forest Gump" theme song and recessed to the "ET soundtrack" all played by pianist Kelly Burke. One of Matt's wishes was for a DeLorean get-a-way car. This "Back to the Future" deLorean was a hit and not only a wish granter for the groom, but the delorian had a place to donate money in which they donated to the Michael J Fox foundation.

Alisha & Pete's Chippewa Square & Riverboat Wedding

Alisha & Pete recently shared their one year anniversary & Alisha's birthday! I can hardly believe it's been a year already. These sweet NC State fans put lots of twists on their day and made it a reflection of who they were and the fun they enjoyed together. As guests arrived to Chippewa Square for the ceremony, they were given roses from two separate arrangements. In place of the traditional unity candle, all guests were invited to take their roses and place them in one arrangement along with Alisha & Pete's to signify the two families coming together and becoming one. After the recessional everyone joined together again for a round of "Happy Birthday" as Alisha blew out sparklers. (something about eating cake and punch under large Savannah oaks, feels magical). As guests headed to the Savannah River Boat, the newly weds enjoyed photos around town, even taking time to sample some pralines at River Street Sweets. It was a beautiful night on the Riverboat and guests enjoyed an intimate reception and dancing. At the end of the night, Alisha and Pete exited under floating bubbles and lived happily ever after!

Diane & Jeff's Whimiscally Wonderful Invitation Suite

While planning Diane's wedding she asked us to put together an invite that was whimsical, played on the words of "Going to the Chapel," and included Savannah themed extras i.e. a "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" DVD. Designer, Beth Dryden was able to take those ideas and come up with this suite that Diane absolutely loved. Invitations were sewn together with a pull tab that allowed the handmade papers to be separated to view different layers i.e. the itinerary. The hand made paper had a backing that felt like honeycomb. Menus and gift tags were designed in the same style. The invitations were placed in vintage cigar boxes with the DVDs and mailed in a custom packaging to delighted guests.

Kellye & Bram's Monterery Square & Ships of the Sea Wedding

"Kelley and Bram’s wedding involved so many wonderful details. From cornhole on the side of the garden, to lemonade in mason jars, this wedding felt like an elegant and intimate back yard wedding. The ceremony décor featured refurbished church pews for the parents of the bride and groom to enjoy along with blue and white programs that matched the handmade table runners at the reception. The unique details didn’t stop there with café lights strung from the tent, a boat as the bar, chalk board signs, and canned honey for their guest favors. Kelley & Bram enjoyed a live band as they danced the night away with their friends and family, then ended the evening with and exit dawning their favorite Tennessee Vols pom-poms and pendants. Amanda's Halloween Super Sweet 16 Party

It's hard to believe Halloween is almost here again! Last Halloween we had a great time with Amanda and her friends as she celebrated her sweet 16. Teens arrived in their best costumes ready to dance. With a custom Amanda sign, decorations, lighting, and favors, this group had a blast.

The South Magazine really knows how to throw a party!
Dine South at Savannah Station was a hit with over 500 guests, famous foodie Jamie Deen, fantastic food vendors, Dollface photobooth, a mechanical bull, & my favorite FCE DJs Jeff & IXtwelve. It was a DJ mash up. Jeff & IXtwelve each set up a system and they mixed into each others songs. I loved it & hope we get the chance to do that sort of set up again.
Guests also voted on several categories. Congrats to the 1st place "greatest food" winners: Michael’s Cafe & Savannah Tech. For more winners see South's blog.

Angela & Patrick's Reception:

Angela & Patrick fill everything with grace and style.

..after the ceremony guests headed to the glowing ballroom for the exciting reception. There were many memorable moments, but the first dance/flash mob was my favorite. After dinner and a quick wardrobe change, Patrick and Angela were ready for their first dance. They started with a slow dance to "Heaven," but it wasn't long before FCE's DJ IXtwelve was mixing in "I Want You" & "Groove Tonight." The bridal party had been practicing for their "flash mob" all day & it was worth it. That was the best first dance I've ever seen. It ended with "PYT" Michael Jackson and the bridal party encouraging the rest of the guests to join in on their dance. It was a lot of fun for the bridal party, an entertaining show for the guests, and a great way to break the ice on the dance floor. Once guests were there, they danced & danced. Angela & Patrick's Ceremony: Come Rain or Come Shine

It started a beautiful July day on the river and ended a beautiful July night on the river, but the middle...while the bridal party did finishing touches to hair and make up, relaxing for an exciting evening, the vendors steadily watched the weather. It looked as though it would pass, but minutes before guests arrived, the skies opened up. Thankfully it was an expert team of vendors and we quickly moved everything inside the ballroom. Pulling in extra plants and flowers the room looked perfect. In fact, most of the guests assumed this was plan A. Angela and Patrick stayed cool through it all. Knowing that everything was in God's hands. The ceremony went off beautifully and then...the rain stopped. It still would have been too wet to have the ceremony outside, but Angela and Patrick were able to get their outdoor shots with the Savannah River in the background. Thankfully, Bonnie

Carrie-Anne & Blake: Walking in Love

Carrie-Anne & Blake were married in beautiful Pulaski Square under the historic moss covered oak trees. The father of the bride, was Savannah chic in his light suit and hat and made me rethink my own black attire. Carrie-Anne's dress was made for both beauty and fun. She was stunning, yet was able to rock the dance floor. Setting up, Jeff helped me with a "squirrelly situation" (see twitter post from May for the inside scope). Guests enjoyed lemonade in the park and soft sounds by FCE DJ Jeff. After the ceremony they made their way to the Desoto Hilton for a fun night of dancing. I enjoyed their playlist so much that I wish it were my own personal pandora station. We enjoyed their wedding very much and am so happy to now call Carrie-Anne & Blake friends. Thankfully, Bonnie

Alexa & Jack-Wide Eyed Love

Alexa and Jack were so sweet to work with. You can see the love they have for each other, in their eyes. The wedding ceremony was held in the historic Whitefield Chapel. Alexa used a RV that allowed them to get ready, eat and relax, rather than just renting restrooms. This was a great idea and one to consider for your wedding. It seemed as though it would rain on us, but thankfully the rain held out until all were inside. What a blessing! After the ceremony they headed to the Chatham Club for a fun filled reception. The views from the bar at the Chatham Club are breath taking & so are these photos-enjoy!

Lauren & Nathan's Tybee Wedding

Lauren and Nathan shared a lovely wedding on Tybee Island's North Beach. We took a risk and had the crowd face the historic Light House for the ceremony (instead of the ocean) and it paid off. The wispy beach grass and the light house made a beautiful backdrop to their ceremony and we didn't have to worry about beach goers getting in the photos. After the ceremony, guests headed to the Guard House for the reception. Thankfully God blessed us with beautiful weather that allowed for fantastic photos. Lauren had a stunning dress that reminded me of the beach waves. Her bouquet was wrapped in her grandmothers handkerchief and pin. Centerpieces were conch shells with Fuji mums and manzaneta branches with orchids. Guests enjoyed a laid back reception with live guitar music and low country boil for dinner. The cakes were a big hit with the guests as they hoped to have a taste from each. The bride's cake featured layers of pink champagne and bourbon chocolate with white chocolate ganache and the groom had banana cake with peanut butter filling. At the end of the party, Lauren and Nathan took a Pirate Pedi Cab to live Happily Ever After.

Line long tables with a loose mix of in season flowers that look "pulled from the garden." Tuck greenery and roses among Savannah Themed Books and place mason jars ready to be filled with bridesmaids bouquets on arrival. Use clothes pins to attach menus to jars and vases. tip: see if your caterer can serve dinner or side items "family style."

Peach Place Cards: Purchase peaches from your favorite supplier or caterer. Many pdfs are available online for the "escort card" flags that you easily attach to a tooth picks. tip: Wait until the last minute to put the toothpick in the peaches, as suggested by Joey at Vic's.

Grits Favors: muslin bags can be purchased on line. Some allow you to send them your logo and they will stamp on for you or you can purchase a stamp of your logo and add on arrival. tip: line the muslin bag with a plastic bag or zip lock to keep grits from escaping. Fill with grits.

Danielle & Jeremy say I do!

Working with "Dan Dan" and Jeremy was a whirlwind of fun. I can remember the day they called and said they were in Savannah visiting from New Mexico. Within hours we were looking at venues and dreaming up Southern images for their event. After that weekend, much of our planning was done by phone and emails (though we did get one extra weekend to plan together and share a dish at LuLu's chocolate bar). Luckily, Jade+Matthew took so many beautiful pictures, because I could never describe all that went on that day. Though the couple wanted most of the decor to have a Southern Savannah feel, they also had a French and New Mexican heritage that peeked out.
The week began full Savannah style with everything from guided fishing tours and Forsyth Park picnics, to ghost tours, swimming, and dining at the Pink House.
At the ceremony Danielle carried a stunning bouquet that included bachelor buttons (just like her mom's wedding bouquet). She said vows to both Jeremy and his daughter Emma. For the recessional, the three led the way in the joyful French Walk. Guests paraded under the Spanish Moss carrying parasols and fans. At the reception, a photo booth served as both guest book and fun favor. Additionally guests received grits in custom monogram bags and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil books to remember the south. Peaches made perfect place cards. Flowers flowed down the table under the twinkle lights above. Two Cakes made a brilliant Croque en bouche (french puff pastry dessert) that served as the wedding cake with a Mexican topper to the side. FCE's Mary, made the beautiful La Vie En Rose banner (this was the name of their first dance) that hung over the desert table that also featured pies, brownies, and cheesecake bites. After a family style dinner, the guests danced until late in the night as FCE DJ Jeff mixed an eclectic selection of French and American music
There is so much more, but I couldn't conclude without saying something about the groom/daughter dance. It was the cutest I've ever seen. They danced to "Anyone Else But You" by the Moldy Peaches. Everyone was singing along as the two swirled around the dance floor.

Julie & Jamie: Harper Fowlkes House Reception

After the ceremony, Julie & Jamie's guests headed to the Harper Fowlkes House. Guests enjoyed tours of the home during the cocktail hour and then made their way to the garden for the reception. There were many special details that made this day perfect....

1920's style lights strung over the garden, chandeliers in the trees, florals and wispy table cloths tucked in between the greenery and around the fountain created a romantic atmosphere.

A desert table placed under the larger chandelier featured this beautiful wedding cake, lemon tartlets, cannolis, chocolate covered strawberries, and wine glass truffles deliciously made by Art Cake Co.

The kids had a special kid sized table and chairs (so cute!) along with their own centerpiece and activities i.e. flower pots to decorate.

Place cards were rose tucked napkins with pearl accented names.

Since it was still cool at night (it was the beginning of April), we had baskets of soft blankets around the garden for people to "snuggle" with. But it wasn't long after dinner that DJ Jeff warmed everyone up on the dance floor.

Jamie honored his late grandfather by dancing to a recording of his grandfather playing the saxophone.

I could go on and on about the details from the fabulous decor by Harvey Designs, to the cigars, the sign in station, the food......I was happy to see everything come together the way Julie & Jamie imagined. I will miss working with this sweet couple.

Julie & Jamie's Garden Ceremony

Julie and I spent just over a year planning her destination wedding. Even though they were in Ohio and much of the planning was done by phone/email, I began to connect with their family and am pleased to say we are still in touch. As the big day approached for Julie and Jamie, it also approached for her brother and his wife as they prepared for the arrival of their new baby. Throughout the day we would take video of the event and send it to the expectant parents so they could be a part of the wedding. The mother of the bride, left quickly the next day as "baby was on they way" and grandma was too!
Julie & Jamie choose the lovely Davenport House Museum Garden for the ceremony. Harvey Designs added the beautiful roses to the arch and did all of the pretty floral. That morning I received a call from Julie to see if we could add one more surprise flower "girl." We hid her sweet pouch until just before time to enter and she escorted the maid of honor down the aisle. After the ceremony, guests took Trolleys to the Harper Fowlkes House where the festivities continued.

Not ONE of the guest of honors on this 1/1/11 group Bas Mitzvah were from Savannah. In fact, the Cuevas, Ellbogen, & Powers families were all from different parts of the country. Rather than have their families go to three separate parties, they decided to do ONE here in Savannah. The first thing the moms expressed to me was that they wanted their decorations to give back to the community. For the centerpieces, we filled large baskets with items for the Ronald McDonald House's need list. We then created labels and named the tables based on what was in the baskets (extra donation items stayed tucked away until after the party). Donation items ranged from food to cleaning supplies and personal care items. Balloons matching their invitations filled the tall ceilings of the beautiful 45 Bistro sun room. Next on the list was entertainment, they came to celebrate!! DJ Tyson provided games, party favors, and the perfect mix of music for this group. After all the fun came to an end, the baskets and their contents were donated to the Ronald McDonald House (& we took a nap-it was the morning after New Year's Eve-lol!)

Lori & Julian treated their guests to Savannah's magic, from the wedding facing the famous Moon River with lemonade under the Spanish Moss trees, to a brunch on the Savannah River Boat. At every turn, guests interacted with Savannah's natural beauty. At Vic's on the River, a local artist provided hundreds of straw flowers for the place settings and Kiwi Fleur provided the perfect flowers, ranging from Aussie greenery, billy bobs, kale, and wheat grasses to hydrangeas, wax flowers and spray roses. Vic's on the River served an amazing southern elegance buffet. Leopold's Ice Cream Cart was a perfect cooling late night treat filled with Dutch utopia, lemon custard, red raspberry, and vanilla ice creams. A first dance to "Everlasting Light" by The Black Keys seemed to quickly turn into a Pedi Cab exit. Before we knew it the couple was back in Arizona. A Winter Wedding-Liz & Brett

Liz & Brett shared a candle light ceremony at Trinity Unity Methodist Church. It was December, but is wasn't too cool so afterwards guests enjoyed a cocktail hour on the AVIA's terrace before the reception. Liz provided a photo booth for guest favors and a photo to sign for her guest book. Snowflake themed escort cards showed guests to their seats. Inside the ballroom A to Zinnias' crystal draped branches and roses added to the winter magic and we added golden up lights to bring warmth to the room. While the brides cake was elegant the grooms cake was a perfect rendition of his favorite hat. After dinner guests took to the dance floor and danced the night away.

Doctors Chris and Melissa knew they would need some help planning their wedding. Not only were they both busy with their profession, but Melissa was in the Air Force and would be relocating very soon. We moved quickly so that much of the planning was complete before she left town and thankfully, they were able to get some overlapping breaks to meet up for tastings and other fun planning trips. Melissa chose to use their birth stones for her colors. A beautiful Emerald Green and Aqua Blue. After a moving ceremony at St. John's Cathedral, guests were treated to lemonade and key lime coolers in Lafayette Square. While it did sprinkle a bit during pictures, the couple kept a great attitude and grabbed some sweet umbrella shots while guests enjoyed cocktail hour at the Charles Morris Center tent. We carried the birth stone theme to the menu cards using the stones to signify which delicious entree they would receive. Chris and Melissa were big baseball fans but they rooted for different teams. So we found bride and groom baseball players for their cake topper. A few quick changes: painting the hair the right color and a few team flags completed the look. After dinner, DJ Jeff and MC Tyson worked the crowd. The dance floor stayed packed all night. This was one of the most fun weddings we have ever done. The father of the bride even took time to sing to his wife. The grandmother was also a hit, though she didn't out do the choreographed First Dance Melissa and Chris prepared. Chris and Melissa shared their last dance with all the friends and family around them. Then they exited under a canopy of sparklers and rode off on their white horse. I can't believe this event was almost a year a go (May 2010). Time flies by so quickly and I am so slow to get these blogs to you. My apologies. Girl Scout Cookies are a guest favor no one can resist. Jessica and Scott's colors were purple and green so they went with Thin Mints and Samoas. I was nervous that I would eat one while boxing them up & it was quite hard to resist (Samoas are my favorite!!) but I made it though. The favor boxes served double duty as place cards and we alternated flavors every other seat so guests could switch for their personal favorite. In the end, they were a smashing success and a great tribute to Savannah and Juliette Gordon Low.

Our FCE staff had a great time meeting so many new and interesting people at

yesterday's bridal show at the Civic Center. We always love creating new

contacts and relationships with potential clients and other vendors. A special

thank you to Savannah Special Events for providing our seating and display

table which not only gave people a chance to sit comfortably while looking

through our information, but also gave it a modern lounge feel. As always,

we very much appreciate the support we received from everyone involved,

from our staff working hard on Sunday, to the expo organizers and to all

the vendors who participated and made it what it was.

I knew I was going to have fun with this group as soon as they arrived for rehearsal. I knew they had a toga party planned for their rehearsal dinner, but had no idea they were coming dressed for the party. It was great.

Within the fun was a loving New York couple who kept special meaning in everything they did. Here are just a few of the ways they made their wedding special: > handkerchiefs for each guest at the ceremony > the many candles that lined the aisle were the same ones used when Matt proposed to Natalie > Natalie's mom made the wedding cake and brought all 5 tiers as carry on luggage on the air plane! The cake topper came from her parents and her grandparents wedding cakes . . . . . & many more.

Natalie loved all things pink. Her beautiful wedding dress was pink, her ring was pink, her cake (inside and out) was pink, the flowers were pink, the champagne was pink and they even had the event at the Olde Pink House.

' behind the veil ' expo 2011

We had a great time Sunday at the second annual Behind the Veil expo at the Jepson and Telfair Museums. We arrived with great expectations after last years success, and left with those expectations exceeded. With so many new connections in both potential clients and top notch vendors, it's easy to see why this show is turning into Savannah's premier wedding expo.

A special thank you to a few key vendors who were integral in making our vignette a huge attraction and success. Harvey Designs for the assistance in the overall design, centerpeices, flowers and chairs, Emma J Design for the stationary, Savannah Special Events for the rentals, Bedazzle My Bonbons for the glitter chocolate treats, and of course the brilliant photography of Jade+Matthew along with MemoriesNmore for the photos below. All of the girls had hangers with their names, but Mrs. Doziers was the best!

The ceremony was held in beautiful historic Trinity United Methodist Church. Several candles on glass candle holders were placed in each of their large windows. Garden on the Square added greenery to the arrangements as well as hydrangea pew markers and two beautiful tall alter arrangements which we re purposed for the reception.

Zoe's Red Carpet Bat Mitzvah Party

We were excited to be a part of Zoe's Bat Mitzvah Party. She was very helpful in planning her sister's Alexa's party and now it was here turn to shine. She arrived in a limo with her best friends for her red carpet grand entrance. Inside the Mighty Eighth Museum, tables were decorated with Lights, Camera, Action centerpieces and guests took home their own personalized "Oscar". Zoe loved her Now Showing Sign and was excited to hang it on her wall at home. The FCE entertainers kept them dancing all night with high energy light shows and party favors. Kena & Erik's Historic Savannah Wedding

Kena & Eric were so sweet and easy going; we had a wonderful time together. It was a beautiful day in Lafayette Square and the guests enjoyed a lovely ceremony. At the end of the ceremony everyone made wishes for the happy couple by throwing pennies in to the fountain. Kena included many special touches to honor the memory of her parents. Harvey Designs made a lovely arrangement for each of her parents chairs and her bouquet contained lockets with their pictures and even her mothers wedding rings. At the reception her mother's wedding dress was displayed on an iron dress form by the memory table (see more pictures on our First City Events facebook page). Here's to many happy memories for the newly weds!

This year, FCE visited the Hope House of Savannah for our giving back project. We had a blast helping the families make Christmas picture frames and stocking crafts while they took turns taking family pictures to go in the frames. We printed the pictures on site so that there were no security concerns (also why the faces are not shown above). I was so proud of our team (many not pictured above) for giving their time especially after most of them had worked late, but they were all happy to do it. While we came to give, we left feeling as though they were the ones who gave to us.

Lindsay & Nate- "Holy Molar, Eye Do!"

Lindsay and Nate were married on one of the most beautiful fall days in Washington Square. They were a sweet couple with many sweet touches to their event. A few special touches from the ceremony included: this beautiful alter Harvey Designs made from a dresser, lanterns, candles, and foliage; the groom proposed using a photo booth and signs that read "will-you-marry-me?" so after the wedding, they took a picture with their wedding party holding signs saying "they-just-got married!." At the reception, small pumpkins were used for escort cards and the tables were decorated with vintage items ranging from cameras to irons mixed with candelabras of painted pumpkins and candles. The sign in area featured old keys, stamps with their name and an antique type writer. The grooms cake was a super cool mouth made by Two Cakes with which Nate and his dental school friends took a picture and their guest favors included coozies that read "Holy Molar, Eye Do!" After a delicious dinner, the guests rocked the The Olde Pink House as FCE DJ Tyson kept the music spinning. There are too many neat touches to tell you about them all, but I hope you enjoy the pictures. I will have more up on the First City Events facebook page and hope you will check them out too. The One Hundred's Amelia "Bearheart" Event

We were honored to be a part of the The One Hundred's Amelia "Bearheart" Bear Gala that benefited the Backus Children's Hospital at the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum. With over 300 guests, the FCE team worked quickly to put up the lovely gold satin chair covers and Riviera sky table linens. The One Hundred's event team put together the cute centerpieces. The bears were complete with jacket, scarf and even pilot's glasses.

Rocky and Kelly's Fall Beach Wedding

Rocky and Kelly came to us after having to move their wedding from the Gulf Coast because of the oil spill. I was saddened that they had to move their event (& because of the spill) but was happy to help them begin to rebuild the wedding of their dreams. We got to work right away mixing their Irish and Asian heritages. To bring in the Asian influences, the reception tables featured Asian runners along with chop sticks and Saki cups at each place setting. Instead of the traditional champagne toast, guests were treated to a special Saki toast. The Irish heritage was especially high-lighted in the cake. Special Celtic knot bands around each tier were just what Kelly was looking for. Another unique touch came during the ceremony. Rocky's father made a unity box from one special piece of wood. Each part of the box had intricate carvings in Kelly's favorite color and each piece was put together by the family, until they were all joined as one. It was a beautiful fall day and though it turned in to a cool evening, everyone stayed nice and warm as they danced to DJ Tyson's music. At the end of the night, the happy couple exited under a shower of rose petals and began their "happy ever after."

Andrea & Jonathan's Ships of the Sea Reception

Jonathan and Andrea were creative, sweet, and fun. DJ Jeff enjoyed their non traditional play list ranging from Pharcyde and Santigold to Sublime. Andrea asked that we bring nautical themed party favors to go with the Ships of the Sea Museums' atmosphere (see Jade's blog to find out who did the amazing decor, desserts and more). Guests enjoyed sailor hats, beads and even pirate eye patches.
Jade set up a fun photo booth with props, that the guests were wild for. (Recognize the background from the photo booth? That's from Andrea's art exhibit we showcased on our blog several months back.)
You could "see" the bride and groom in everything they planned. As soon as you entered the reception you could taste, see, smell and hear Jonathan and Andrea. There was a little bit of their personality in each item and it came together for a great event. Best wishes to the lucky couple.

Murphy/Sellers Somewhere Over the Rainbow

I enjoyed getting to know Christie as we planned her "Wizard of Oz" inspired wedding. She was always so sweet and creative. Scott was deployed prior to the event, but I quickly learned why she loved him so much when we finally met.

Christie and Scott were married in the historic St. John's Cathedral. To honor their Irish roots, her grandfather wore a kilt and bag pipes played for the recessional and during pictures.

Following the ceremony, guests headed over to the American Legion for the reception where they enjoyed a delicious low country boil, lemonade, and of course wedding cake.

Some of Christie's extra touches included chalk board signage, mason jars filled with sunflower seeds for favors, and the perfect hydrangea and daisy centerpieces by A to Zinnias.

We wondered if they would dance much since it was still daylight outside, but they danced and they danced and they danced some more. We even had a few special performances. Scott and his military brothers changed in to t-shirts and sang up to the bride when she went up to the balcony to do the bouquet toss. It was Romeo and Juliet meets Top Gun-romantic and fun!It's always the groups we think will not dance, that bring their own hula hoops-hee hee!

After the ceremony, guests headed over to the Mulberry Inn where they enjoyed a cocktail hour in the courtyard with music and cooling refreshments. The iron garden chairs featured blue and gold pillows, provided by the bride. Upon arrival, the bride and groom were announced into the courtyard and shared their first dance. Dinner was served inside the cafe, where the florist set up flower arrangements of hydrangeas, green apples, roses, peacock feathers and more. The tables also had tall blue glass candle holders, runners and tea lights. When it was time for dancing, the guests moved in to the Mulberry Room. This room fully embraced the peacock theme. Katie chose a crushed linen that would reflect gold, green or purple depending how the light hit it and perfectly matched the peacock feather centerpieces the florist provided. White chair covers with purple sashes and golden up lights completed the look. DJ Tyson kept the dance floor going and everyone had a fantastic time. The night ended with a pretty sparkler exit .

Coan/Farmer Wedding Ceremony

Katie & Drew were so much fun and loved by everyone. It was a joy to work with this sweet Alabama couple. With a peacock inspired theme, peacock feathers were incorporated in everything from the decor to the accessories. The beautiful flowers came in with the florist all the way from Alabama. Inside the chapel, we set up a small table with tissues, fans, guest book and programs on her grandmothers table cloth. The ring bearer was given a mortar and pestle rather than a pillow and the flower girl wore beautiful feathers in her hair. The beauty of this day was only surpassed by the beauty of this couple inside and out.

We transformed Savannah Station into a Victorian musical romance with lighting, fabrics and crystals for Jessica and Steven's big day. The food stations, bar and head table featured trees draped in crystals. The remaining centerpieces were candles floating on soft pink rose petals and crystal draped lanterns. One set of centerpieces looked as if you happened upon an old jewelry box. To bring in their love for music we place tea stained sheet music under the jewelry and candles. The candles were wrapped in gold ribbon that mimicked the lines on sheet music. The client provided Victorian fans to go on top of the gold crushed linens and chocolate napkins. We created a grand entrance using a mix of light pink and Victorian gold satin fabric between the bar and the ballroom. The curtain remained closed during the pre-reception, and later we pulled them open for the party to begin. We even took DJ Jeff's station back in time with the gold Victorian fabric. Savannah Station was the perfect venue for this event with their hard wood floors and beautiful chandelier. Jessica Denmark did a wonderful job coordinating the wedding and we were blessed to have been a part of the event.

Jared and Andrea's beautiful wedding and reception were held at the Olde Pink House. It was a pleasure to share in this creative process with such a sweet couple. We created a golden mandap with strands of crystals to be used for the ceremony and then we moved it during the reception (removed the front panel) and used it for the sweet heart table area. Garden on the square accented the piece with strands of orchids. DJ Jeff played an excellent mix of music throughout the ceremony and the reception with music ranging from mainstream American to Bollywood hits. I was thrilled by the happy response we receive from the bride and groom at the end. We wish them all the best as they share their lives together.

A Ballet Bridal Shower

We first met Adrian while in ballet class. With a love for dance and with many dance friends, we decided to do a french twist on the usual. Complete with veil, Adrian was the only one in white. Ballet instructor, Kathleen Collins provided a fantastic ballet class and then we had refreshments and presents. It was a fun time for all dancers and non dancers alike. Congrats Mrs. Miller!

"Fellow intern, Brittany & I attended our first hospitality night together and had a blast! Tyson and Jeff kept great music playing all night and even though I didn't win anything, I really enjoyed meeting a lot of local area business people. It seems like everyone knows Bonnie and First City Events! W.G. Shuckers was a great location for the event and the food was really yummy! Brittany and I couldn't get enough of the chicken tenders! It was nice being able to see some of the team at work and be able to enjoy myself at the same time. I'm really looking forward to attending the August event!"

This Spring/Summer, we had many sweet couples that as soon as the wedding was over, I knew I would miss them. Amanda & Luke were one of those couples. They had a beautiful Savannah Square Wedding followed by an exciting all night dancing reception. The food was great, the music fun, and everything was beautiful.
